SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) is a secular, Mumbai-based non-profit organization working to improve preventive and promotive healthcare among marginalised slum communities. We develop evidence-based models of health to improve maternal, child and adolescent health indicators and implement them directly through field-level interventions in and around Mumbai and through partnerships with other organisations across other parts of India. Our Pillar Programmes include 4 large public health areas to build healthy lives of urban women and children: Maternal and Newborn Health, Child Health and Nutrition, Empowerment Health and Sexuality of Adolescents and Prevention of violence against women and children. Apart from our Pillar Programmes which are our focus areas, we follow a Continuum of Care approach. Here we work with women and children to ensure they have continuous access to and awareness of the health services they need to live a healthy and safe life.
